States and Capitals
Form two teams with an equal number of players on each team. One team is assigned states and the other capitals. The "state" team names a state and the "capital" team must give the capital. Then the "capital" team names a capital and the "state" team must give the state. For every correct answer give five points. For every incorrect answer take away ten points. Reverse the state and capital assignments.
Name that Tune
Group all players into pairs. One pair plays at a time. They are seated in chairs side by side. Place a bell a short distance away. When the music starts the first one to run and ring the bell and name the tune is the winner. Give each pair three tries. After each pair has had a turn, let the winners play against each other.
Sonny Boy
The leader begins this game with a statement like, "Sonny Boy is funny and looney but not crazy. He likes moo cows but not milk cows". Each person is given a chance to make a statement about Sonny Boy, but the leader will have to judge whether he's telling the truth. His words must have double letters in them to be acceptable. The game continues until most (or all) of the people catch on.
Clumsy Wrestler
Boys usually like this game. Divide the boys into pairs according to size. Have two boys stand facing each other with hands on the other's shoulders. Place a coke bottle on the floor between them. The boys pull and push to get their opponent to knock over the bottle. The one to knock over the bottle is the loser. Winners may then play against each other.
